MARQUETTE – The Marquette County Board selected Marquette attorney Steven Pence Tuesday to fill out the unexpired term of former Commissioner Jim Cihak, which expires at the end of the year. Pence, who was among three candidates, was sworn in to office Tuesday night. “I thank you all for your support and I hope to prove worthy of your confidence in me,” Pence told the board after its unanimous vote. Additional candidates for the District 1 seat included Joseph Lavey II and Carol Vining Moore. Pence, of the law firm of Pence and Numinen, PC, served eight years as the prosecuting attorney in Delta County.
